Acne
Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. It causes blackheads, whiteheads, pustules, papules, nodules or cysts.

Causes
-Excess oil (sebum) production
-Hair follicles clogged by oil and dead skin cells -Bacteria
-Inflammation

Which can also be caused by;
-Stress (stress causes your body to make cortisol, which tells glands to make more oil) -Environment (air pollution, temperature, sun exposure, plus weather conditions such as humidity) -Genetics (Acne can sometimes be influenced by inherited intrinsic factors).

The most common cause of acne is HORMONES!

1. changing hormone levels in women, including around your period, irregular periods, during pregnancy, during menopause or after discontinuing birth control.
2. pre-existing medical conditions i.e. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS).
3. overproduction of testosterone in men - especially around teenage years.
